Flight booking for your international travel and domestic China Tours should be different if you want to save money.

Booking through an agent is advised due to its convenience and care-freeness but only if you do not mind paying the agency fee or sometimes ending up with less discount tickets.

If you have access to the Internet, you yourself can get cheap international air tickets or book discount China Flights without any difficulty and you do not need any agents.

For cheap international air tickets, I have five websites for you which are most recommended and shared among international travelers.

No.1 TravelZoo

Its website provides a search engine capable of providing airfares from several dozen airlines. Your fares are provided in a simplified single list format with purchase links to their related airline or travel website. You may select your ticket based on a variety of options such as airline, departure or arrival time, or prices.

No.2. Expedia

It is one of the largest travel search engine websites on the internet. As it will often purchase blocks of tickets from the major airlines, you may find the exact same ticket priced 20% to 40% cheaper than what is listed directly on the airlines website. Occasionally, I have found cheaper fares when booked with a hotel.

No.3 Priceline

It is best known for their more than famous spokesman, but if you have complete flexibility in your schedule, this website can be a great option. You can either search for the current priced ticket or bid your own price. I have found when bidding that airlines often will not go much more than 10% to 15% their lowest published fare and tickets must be purchased immediately.

No.4. Travelocity

Have a timeline in mind? Its flexible dates fare search option will show you future fares for select US and international markets. This will give you an idea of the best fares possible. From these ticket prices you can often determine the best time of year to visit a particular location.

No.5. Airfarewatchdog

This online travel company offers a unique approach to finding airfares based on the city you are leaving from or going to. After entering this information, the site will provide you with the lowest fares to or from your city of choice for both domestic and international routes. It will also provide information on advance purchase, airline, days of the week for travel, and seat availability.

However, after a Travel to Beijing, then you are planning another one to shanghai, Xi’an, or Lhasa, do not use Expedia, Travelocity, or Priceline to buy your plane tickets. Why? Because these or other foreign travel companies are much more expensive. Best discounts of domestic China flights are provided by local companies. It would be much wiser to book through them.

The most popular online companies among china domestic travelers are Elong, Ctrip, and Travelzen which can also be accessed from outside of China. You can refer to my blog “Cheap China Ticket—Domestic Air Tickets” for detailed introduction about them.

When traveling by air between Chinese cities, do not use Expedia, Travelocity, or Orbitz to buy your plane tickets. Why? Because these or other foreign travel companies are much more expensive. Best discounts of domestic China Flights are provided by local companies. It would be much wiser to book through them.

This article will introduce you some China travel companies you can resort to for cheap Chinese domestic air tickets.

There are many those online companies actually but Elong, Ctrip, and Travelzen are the most practical, reliable and can be accessed from outside of China.

Elong

ELong, Inc. (NASDAQ: LONG) is a leading online travel company in China. Headquartered in Beijing, ELong has a national presence across China, and uses web-based distribution technologies and a 24-hour call center to provide consumers with accurate travel information and high quality travel booking services.

Elong has become Expedia’s exclusive affiliate in Asia, working with Expedia’s branches across the globe to bring best travel experiences to customers.

It fulfills domestic and international air ticket reservations in over 80 major cities across China.

Ctrip

Ctrip is also China’s leading flight ticketing service, booking over 2 million tickets monthly with all Chinese and major international airlines.

Complimentary ticket delivery service is provided in over 60 cities throughout China, and Ctrip One Hour Express Ticketing—an industry first in China—provides reliable and fast e-ticketing service to members.

Some Chinese online booking sites don’t accept foreign credit cards, but Ctrip does.

Travelzen

Based in Shanghai, Travelzen uses state-of-the-art proprietary technology and SEBTI’s unparalleled resources to deliver the best possible availability and prices through an intuitive, real-time booking engine offering both domestic and outbound air tickets as well as hotel reservations for hundreds of Mainland Chinese cities including Hong Kong and Macau.

Qunar

Qunar(means “Where are you going?” in Chinese) is a Chinese search engine which can search prices from most travel (airline tickets, hotel) service providers’ websites based on your search query, and you can filter and then purchase such services by clicking the links in the search result. The price on its search result is probably the best price one can find on the Internet.

Many Chinese people just use it to buy domestic air tickets instead of the above three.

However, the website is operated in the Chinese language. If you can read simple Chinese, it would be very helpful for you.

Chinese airlines use the same kind of dynamic pricing systems as airlines in the West, which means prices always seem to be changing in response to market conditions, especially on busy routes.

Therefore it is best to book your tickets for your China tours in advance, 2 months or so will typically guarantee you the best deals. If you wait until a week or two out, you may get a greater discount than you would booking in advance, but it will only be minor (eg,40% 2 months in advance, 50% a week in advance) and at the same time you risk paying full price or something very close to it.

China is such a mystical land where the civilization dates back more than 6,000 years, and it is the source of the Four Great Inventions, and home to such wonders as the Great Wall of China, the Terracotta Warriors, and the Imperial Palace in Beijing.

You are planning a china travel and need advice for the air tickets. This article is written to help you with your discount China Flights.

Getting discount air tickets is very simple. As a matter of fact, there are many kinds of discounts offered by the airlines.

 Online-Booking Discount

Online airline tickets are deeply discounted because the airlines sell about 7-100 seats on each flight to contracted online vendors.

 Last-Minute Discount

Sometimes if you stand the suspense and just wait, you can buy tickets at the very last minute for a great price, if the airlines have failed to fill their planes. Many airlines offer weekly newsletters that feature their best last-minute deals.

 Stand-By Discount

Getting cheap standby tickets is possible. But nowadays only a few air lines offer the service. Inquire about it if you’re flying off-season. High season is a bad time to fly standby because most airlines overbook flights, making it difficult to find a spare seat.

 Booking-In-Advance Discount

Booking in advance is recommended especially during peak travel periods, making reservations late in the game can cost you a lot of money. Airline ticket prices typically go up 21 days, 14 days, 7 days and 3 days before flying, so if you’re planning ahead, try to make the call before these deadlines. And if you’re traveling internationally, you’ll want to book even earlier — from three to six months in advance for the best deals.

 Book-through-Consolidator Discount

Buy tickets through consolidators, who buy blocks of tickets and sell them at a discount to help an airline fill up all available seats.

 Flexibility Discount

This can be further divided into three categories.

First, it is off-season discount. When booking your tickets, be flexible and try to avoid peak seasons and you can get off-season discount.

For example, try to avoid the peak domestic travel seasons, when the Chinese people travel. They are Chinese New Year, Labor Day, and National Day. The New Year occurs in January / February. The Labor Day and National Day dates vary, but are around May 1 and October 1. Hong Kong’s high season is October through December. Despite the heat and humidity, summer is the peak season for Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.

Hong Kong’s off seasons are summer and winter. Conventions and trade fairs, however, book the best hotels, particularly in March and April. Winter in Beijing and Shanghai is the off season, and hotels offer substantial discounts. The best time to search for cheap flights to China is autumn when the weather is gorgeous and there are few tourists.

Secondly, it is date discount. Friday and Sunday are the most expensive days to travel while Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays are typically the cheapest days to fly on discount tickets.

Thirdly, late-night flights, very early morning flights and flights with at least one stop tend to be discounted as well.

 Frequent –Flyer discount

If possible, stay with the same airline during your entire trip, so you can receive round-trip or other connecting fare discounts, such as frequent flier miles .Why pay a fare at all when you can use your frequent flier miles? Although redeeming miles has become more difficult in recent years, it’s still a good option to consider, particularly if you’re booking early; airlines designate a very limited number of seats on each flight as eligible for award travel, and these seats go quickly.

In conclusion, good planning and a bit of flexibility can guarantee your discount airfares for your China Tours.

China is one of the hottest tourist destinations in the world. To have a travel to Beijing or a travel to Shanghai is always a good choice to spend your vacationTrain travel does have its merits. However, it takes more time. High speed is the strongest advantage of air travel, but the cost can be relatively high, too.

Is low fare air travel in China possible? Of course! It is no big deal and does not involve any magic or luck. It is just a matter of planning and flexibility.

No .1 Buy Early VS Buy Late

Early buying is recommended especially during peak travel periods, making reservations late in the game can cost you a lot of money. Airline ticket prices typically go up 21 days, 14 days, 7 days and 3 days before flying, so if you’re planning ahead, try to make the call before these deadlines. And if you’re traveling internationally, you’ll want to book even earlier — from three to six months in advance for the best deals.

However, everything is relative and nothing is absolute. Sometimes if you stand the suspense and just wait, you can buy tickets at the very last minute for a great price, if the airlines have failed to fill their planes. Many airlines offer weekly newsletters that feature their best last-minute deals.

No. 2 Standby Fares

Getting cheap standby tickets is possible. But nowadays only a few air lines offer the service. Inquire about it if you’re flying off-season. High season is a bad time to fly standby because most airlines overbook flights, making it difficult to find a spare seat.

No 3 Frequent Flier Miles

If possible, stay with the same airline during your entire trip, so you can receive round-trip or other connecting fare discounts, such as frequent flier miles .Why pay a fare at all when you can use your frequent flier miles? Although redeeming miles has become more difficult in recent years, it’s still a good option to consider, particularly if you’re booking early; airlines designate a very limited number of seats on each flight as eligible for award travel, and these seats go quickly.

No 4 Travel Packages

Ask the airline if it offers travel packages to save money in other areas. For instance, is a rental car or hotel room available at a discount along with the airline ticket?

No.5 Be Flexible

Be flexible in scheduling your flight. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays are typically the cheapest days to fly; late-night flights, very early morning flights and flights with at least one stop tend to be discounted as well.

No 6 Shop Around

No matter how good it sounds, you should never book the first fare you see. Because only after comparing with others can you find out whether the stated fare is the cheapest. Always inquire about other options when speaking to the airline reservations clerk and if the internet is available, check more than one web site. If you don’t see anything in your preferred price range, don’t be afraid to bide your time and watch the fares for a bit. Most major booking sites have alert features that will e-mail you when your fare drops to a price you’re willing to pay.

No 7 Buy through Consolidators

Buy tickets through consolidators, who buy blocks of tickets and sell them at a discount to help an airline fill up all available seats.

By following those tips of course you can enjoy low fare air travel in China, but sometimes you are simply in such a hurry, or busy with other parts of your trip or want more time to enjoy yourself that you can not afford or do not want to waste the time in those planning and comparing, you can just pick up a China travel agent that you can trust and let it do everything for you.

Ways to Get Low Cost Plane Tickets for China Domestic Flights

Are you still struggling to book cheap air tickets for domestic trips within China? Well, because of the safety control of the government, it is rare that you could book cheap domestic flights in China through the local agencies in your country. Another factor for not getting cheap tickets is that you are not familiar with the “black-out” period of flights. In addition, it is tricky that the price sometimes depends on where you are leaving. For example, if you Travel to Guilin, or Chengdu, it is cheaper if you take flights from Shanghai rather than Beijing. As Shanghai is the center of the competitions of all airlines, such as China Southern Airlines, Spring Airlines, and China Eastern Airlines.

Low-cost airlines for domestic flights and adjacent Asian countries. As I have mentioned above, you can always get cheap tickets, if you are leaving from Shanghai. Especially, the two most famous low-cost airlines was established in Shanghai: Spring Airlines and Juneyao Airlines. These two airlines always offer the cheapest prices for flights from Shanghai to other cities, Hong Kong, and adjacent Asian countries. For example, the latest price for traveling from Shanghai to Xi’an by Spring Airlines is only RMB 400 yuan and RMB 500 yuan by Juneyao Airlines, while the prices from other airlines are at least RMB 650 yuan. If you are in Beijing, then you may need to do more research on the cheap tickets. To reduce some work, I would like to recommend several airlines besides the Spring Airlines and Juneyao Airlines: Xia’men Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Tianjin Airlines, and Hainan Airlines, which also has opened several international cheap lines recently.

Avoid “Black-out” periods for cheap air tickets. There several national holidays that you may want to avoid. It is not only because of the full-priced air tickets, but also the horribly crowded situation all over China. The golden week for National Day lasts from Oct 1st to Oct 7th is quite busy, and several days before or after this week. The summer vacation period is also the hot season for the air tickets. However, the exact months of summer vacation in China are different from most western countries. Normally, the students will have their summer vacation from July to the end of the August. But for most western countries, as far as I know, the summer vacation lasts from May to September. Thus, you can arrange your trip to China at the first section of summer vacation when the scenery spots are not getting crowd and the air tickets are always on sale. In the end, the worst period I suggest you to avoid is the Spring Festival period. This vacation is even the nightmare for Chinese, as everyone wants to go back to their hometown for this biggest traditional Spring Festival. Moreover, people need to come back to those big cities for work after this vacation. You can try to imagine what the condition would be, considering that there is 1.3 billion population in China. In order to avoid the chaos on trains and in railway stations, many people with decent incomes will choose airplanes. Therefore, it is not the matter of buying cheap tickets but the fact that probably you are not able to get one full-priced ticket.

Travel to another country always needs a large amount of preparation time and money. The most economical method for travelling in China might be taking the advantage of e-commerce. You can book the discounted air tickets, full-range of China Hotels, customized tour packages through some official websites, like ctrip, and chinatraveldepot.com. By ordering your travel services through internet, you will enjoy a worry-free and cheap trip in China!

The international tickets to China have risen up to a high level this year, partly because of the Shanghai Expo. But the root for this expensive air tickets is the rare competition among airlines to operate international flights. For example, the flights between Canada and China are mainly operated byAir China, China Eastern Airlines and Air Canada. Especially, for some direct flights from some Canadian cities to major cities in China, there are only Air Canada flights. But all of these will be changed in this month. Hainan Airlines, which is the only 4-star airlines in China, will open several direct lines for international flights this month. The first direct flight from Toronto to Beijing will be setting off this Saturday. And the price for round trip is only about $700, while the cheapest price of Air Canada in history was $900.

Hainan Airlines was established in Hainan, 1993. It has more than 500 lines for international and domestic flights. It operated flights between Beijing and Berlin, Sydney, Toronto, Seattle, etc. And in 2009, it received the award of the first 4-star airline in China by SKYTRAX. This year, 2010, Hainan Airlines opened the first frequent direct flights between Beijing and Phuket. The accumulation card for Hainan Airlines is the Fortune Wings Club. The members of this club also include Grand China Air, Lucky Air, Tianjin Airlines, China West Air, Hong Kong Airlines, Hong Kong Express, Air Berlin, China Airlines, and Malev.

The domestic flights of Hainan Airlines are quite cheap and with high quality of service. From Beijing to Hangzhou, for example, just costs RMB 360 yuan. Moreover, they have prepared cheap tickets for Christmas and New Yearvacations. For European round trips, like between Beijing or Shanghai and Brussels, Berlin, travelers can have special offers if you book tickets 14 days in advance. The price is from RMB 3380 between December 1st, 2010 and January 20th, 2011,  RMB 3500 yuan between January 21st and February 28th ,2011, RMB 4000 yuan from March 1st to March 31st, 2011, RMB 2600 yuan Between Beijing and Moscow from November 1st to December 31st , RMB 3500 yuan Between Beijing and Moscow, St. Petersburg from January 1st to March 31st.

There are also cheap flights offers in North America. During the period of November 1st,2010 ad March 31st, 2011, the international flights from Beijing, transferring in Seattle, to Vancouver, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Calgary, Denver, the round trip price is as low as RMB 3500 yuan. And the first direct flight between Toronto and Beijing this Saturday (November 27th) can be only RMB 4800 yuan for round trip. This line is taken by Air Bus A340, the flights number is HU7975 and HU7976. It operates every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. It leaves at 3:40pm in Toronto or 1pm in Beijing, and arrives in 6:55pm in Beijing or 1:40pm in Toronto. The flight duration is around 13 hours.

For Africa, Hainan Airlines have opened the direct flights between Beijing and Cairo in November 17th. The single trip is from RMB 3200 yuan, while the round trip only costs RMB 3800 yuan. Also there are connecting flights from other cities in China, transferring to Beijing, to Cairo. And the domestic flights of this connecting lines are free.

The choices of cheap flights for international travelers are more and more. Many Chinese airlines are preparing for coming into this market and making this competition tense like domestic flights. In a short period, there will be more airlines which used to focus on the domestic flights, will be initiating the direct international flights. So you travelers will enjoy even cheaper China Flights than current deals!

Low Fare Airline in China Saves a Lot

Since the global economy has become so bad, not only the government, but also every family has to consider how to save money. As family trip is always a part of regular cost, you have to think of how to lower the budget. Then travel to Asian countries might be a good choice because of the currency rate. And China would be your first station, since it is convenient to other Asian countries and it has both traditional eastern culture and modern style fashions. You can Travel to Xi’an to explore the Ancient Silk Road, while you could also Travel to Shanghai to be merged in the environment—When East Meets West. After some analyst, I have concluded the top cheapest airlines from Shanghai to different popular tourism cities in China. The reason I picked Shanghai to be the starting point is that the competition among airlines focus in Shanghai.

From Shanghai to Xi’an. Currently, the Spring Airlines provide thecheapest flights to Xi’an. The lowest price can be as low as RMB 200 yuan, compared with RMB 700 yuan in China Eastern Airlines. The flight departs at 2:05pm from Shanghai Pudong Airport and arrives in Xian Yang Airport at 5pm. The second cheapest airline is China Southern Airlines which costs about RMB 380yuan. It is an early flight and it leaves at 7:25am and arrives in Xi’an at 9:55am. The Spring Airlines is the first and most famous low-cost airline in China and its typical promotion is the RMB 199 yuan tickets.

From Shanghai to Hong Kong and Macao. Again, the Spring Airlines is the cheapest one for your travel to Hong Kong. You can merely spend RMB 500 yuan from Shanghai to Hong Kong which takes 2.5 hours. You may have known about the relatively lousy service on the flights of Spring Airlines. However, since it becomes sometimes even cheaper than the train, the company has to reduce some cost during the operation. If you really care about the quality of service on board, then the second cheapest flights come from Hong Kong Airlines. And it charges for around RMB 1300 yuan. For Macao, the selections are less. You can either choose Shanghai Airlines or Air Macao. Both airlines sell the tickets at the price as RMB 1600 yuan. The flight time is around 3 hours.

From Shanghai to Tokyo and Seoul. As I have said that it was quite convenient to go to other Asian countries. From Shanghai to Tokyo, the cheapest direct flight is from Air China, Delta Airlines, and China Eastern Airlines which cost around RMB 1900 yuan. Or if you do not mind connecting flights, you can still take the Spring Airlines, then Asiana Cargo. And this combination cost RMB 50 yuan less than the previous airlines. The direct flights take almost 3hours, while the connecting flights need to stay overnight. To Seoul, the air tickets are much less than the flights to Tokyo. The cheapest price is from China Southern Airlines which charges for approximately RMB 700. You can either leave at 8am in the morning or 3pm in the afternoon. The prices are the same.

Thanks to the tense competition among airlines, the price for travelling within or outside of China is getting lower and lower. Although the fuel surcharges and airport construction fees have been increased to RMB 120 yuan, the air tickets are still low. Besides the Spring Airlines, other specific low fare airlines are Dragonair, Korean Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airlines, and June Yao Airlines. Especially the June Yao Airlines which was established in 2005, one year after the Spring Airlines was on operation, is said to have both good service and low fare at the same time. The 17th Asian Games has been open in November 11th, 2010 in Guangzhou, China. The government invested RMB 120 billion yuan on preparation of this Asian Games, including the constructions of stadiums, and the environment and public facilities of Guangzhou city. The government also tried the free public transit policy during the Asian Games. As the winter is coming in northern China, such as Xi’an Tours are cooling down as well. But Travel to Guangzhou is popular because of the warm weather and this Asian Games.

In order to encourage the tours to the Asian Games, the government controlled the price of flight tickets to Guangzhou. The discount is around 60% off and the flights from Beijing to Guangzhou are 40% off. Also the government used to establish the free public transit so that the traffic situation will be better. However, this policy suspended after a week, as too many people were attracted by the free subway. Instead, the residents in Guangzhou received the subsidies for encouraging the public transit. Also, from the first day of this month, Guangzhou government applied the “odd-even” restriction policy to the vehicles on road. This policy is welcome by drivers.
