Flight tickets are always the major cost during a trip, especially when you are planning an international travel. You need to think about buying cheap tickets in two steps: China Flights from your country and Flights within China—I assume that you are also interested in multiple cities, such as Tibet Tours. Below I will discuss some tips for getting cheap tickets for both kinds of flights.

The international flights to China. Generally there are two ways to book your flights: local travel agencies or online travel agencies. You may want to tryonline travel agencies at first, because it is often cheaper than the local agencies. The global websites for searching travel products are orbiz.com and expedia.com. You may also know about Kayaka.com and chinatraveldepot.com which is nation-running travel agency in China. Not only could you search for tickets prices from various airlines, but also you can compare the details of them. Therefore, it is more transparent for customers to choose cheap and suitable flights by themselves. If this method fails, then you can also try local travel agencies. These agencies usually buy a block of tickets together, so that they can get rather cheap prices from the airlines. But the period of rather cheap tickets is not flexible, so you would better confirm the date before you have made decisions.

The domestic flights within China. It is rare that you can get a cheap domestic ticket from travel agencies outside of China. Why? Because these information is forbidden by the Chinese government for national security. So the most convenient way to book this typeof flights is through Chinese online travel agencies. The ctrip.com is well-known and used by local people in China, as it contains various information for a large number of China airlines. This website also includes sorts of tour packages, hotel information and other travel items, just like the expedia and orbiz. However, it is not the cheapest one. The cheapest one is qunar.com which becomes much more popular among Chinese youths. This website will provide the deals from the official website of the airlines, and the discounted price from other travel agencies. You can compare the rates and price to make your decision. But qunar.com is not available for international travelers who know few Chinese. There is no English version yet.

The third website which serves international travelers, like you, specifically is chinatraveldepot.com. This website is not just an online travel agency. It is a division of the national and international travel services provided by China CYTS co. Ltd. This company is one of the largest official travel service companies in China. It provides cheap tickets, customized tour packages, yangtz river cruise and car rental (with guide and driver) services. The discounted ticket can be as low as 50% off the original price. And it provides information from many low cost airlines, such as Spring Airlines, Chongqing Airlines, China Southern Airlines, etc.

If you do not want to buy your tickets online, then perhaps you would better go to a local travel agencies run by Chinese. Because they usually have connections with travel agencies in China, and they often get some “special” discount for air tickets. Besides the air tickets, you could also make the reservations for China Hotels through these online travel agencies. Or if you do not have time to plan the trip, you may just choose the tour packages provided by these travel agencies. They will arrange everything for you, including hotels, air tickets, guides, food and schedules. Usually you can visit multiple cities within a week.

Recent years, new low cost airlines are emerging all over the world, even you can benefit from these airlines for china travel. The most famous airline of this kind is the Southwest Airlines which is the third largest airlines in the world. However, it does not provide international flights as the cost is much larger. This article offers introductions of cheap fare airlines in China, especially if your destination is southern parts of China, like Guilin Flights.

1. China Southern Airlines. This airline is my favorite for travel within China. It began to offer several seats on each flight at an unbelievable price several years ago. The cheapest ticket I have ever bought is 80% off the full price and it was during the peak seasons for Spring Festival. The limited rather cheap seats are usually coming up around two months before travel date. So if you are quick, you will receive large discounts. Unlike the low cost airlines, China Southern Airlines are not trying to save money from only providing simple snacks and water. All the services are standard and there is no difference between full-priced and low-priced passengers. What is more, the flight lines are covering each corner of China. My home town is a small but tourism city in the southern part of China, but we have China Southern Airlines flights every day, from Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and other cities.

2. Xiamen Airlines. This is another good choice for travelling in China and other Asian countries. And this company is famous for airlines to Taiwan. Four different flights are provided by travelling to Taiwan. You can choose the flight to Kaohsiung, or Taichung, or Taipei Sungshan or Taipei Taoyuan. If you plan to travel not just mainland of China, but also Taiwan, this airlines must be your choice. As the headquarter is in Xiamen that is a beautiful coast city, each flight line from or to Xiamen is cheaper than other airlines. Two different promotions are that you will benefit from booking round trip and 7 to 14 days advance sale. Book round way trips on Xiamen Airlines, you will receive 5% off. And the advance sale is only available for online booking and transactions.

3.Hainan Airlines. The special part for this airline is that the international flights reach most East Europe, like Akesu, Budapest. Besides the Air China which covers most international lines, Hainan Airlines could be another options travelling from Europe to the southern paradise of China. Another attractive point is the RMB 99 flight on its official website. There will be three chances everyday for you get this RMB 99 ticket almost for each flight. First come, first serve. The rules are: 1) participants must be the registered member of Jin Peng Club (Hainan Airlines club); 2) expires on Dec 31st, 2010 and the three times are 9:30am-10:30am, 14:30am-15:30pm, 19:30pm-20:30pm; 3) sale tickets must be paid within 10 minutes, otherwise they will be cancelled. Moreover, if you are not lucky enough to get these RMB 99 tickets, you still could search the sales section to get low fare tickets as cheap as 80% off.

The above is some information for cheap tickets, but with better service. The only typical no frills airlines in China might be Shanghai Spring International Travel Service Co, Ltd. It is true that the tickets in this airline company are relatively cheap. But I do not recommend because of the small spaces and even no drinks. I would pay a little bit more, like RMB 100, to have more comfortable experience on air. As there are too many airlines for you to look, why not try some websites that collect all the information, like expedia? If you want to save some time and money at the same time, you can try this official Chinese “expedia” website for China Airlines.

According to a special report about expectations in the next decade by Forbes Magazine, you can take so-called “Trans-Eurasia Express” train from Paris to Beijing with the speed of over 300mph. It is an amazing expectation. However, current possible way to Travel to Beijing from Europe is the airplane. So information and tips of China Flights are still your concerns before planning the trips. This article is trying to ease these concerns or worries about how to get tickets as cheap as it could be.

Choose the right period for travelling. The Golden week, National Holiday, has just passed, and the hot situation of all kinds of traffic finally calmed down to normal. The dates near this period are not the good time for travelling in China. It is quite crowd and expensive. The international flights may be not as expensive as the domestic ones which are generally full-priced during this week. But any expense within China, including flight, train or bus tickets, is larger than usual days. Just from today, October 12th, the prices for all airlines are getting decreased sharply. So choose the dates several days after this crazy busy Golden week, you could also get cheap tickets to China.

Another holiday causes the same situation is the Spring Festival in January or February, which is more “horrible” than National Holiday. NEVER choose several days before the Spring Day, as the flights are always full-priced, no matter international or domestic. And what is worse, the stress on domestic public transit is unimaginably huge. If you choose travelling between these days, the experience will be unforgettable but horrible. But Spring Festival is the largest Chinese traditional festivals, like the Asian Christmas. Therefore it is a good time to explore traditional cultures in China. Then you can choose the flight just on the Spring Festival day, or 1 or 2 days after this day. The tickets are extremely cheap because of the same reason on Christmas day.

Book round trips to China, but single trip within China. You might be curious about why I am saying this, since every advertisement of airlines is recommending round trips to get cheapest tickets. It is true if you are taking international flights to China, but it is not useful for booking flights within flights. The differences of prices between single or round trips are few for domestic flights in China. Not sure about the reasons for this, but it is confirmed by several airline tickets agents and my own experience. So there is no need to bother making your decisions for round trip tickets in the same company. You can compare prices among several airlines and choose the flight which is more suitable.

Register for a specific credit or card before travelling. It is a quite long journey from Europe, Australia or North America to China, which means you could earn many gifts through accumulating a lot of mileages. For example, for each round trip from Toronto to China, I accumulated the mileage equal to $100 gift cards on aeroplan. And if you also have the credit card which has the same function, you will obtain other gifts from the credit card company. Once you have chosen the airlines to travel, remember to check the information on the alliance or mileage card that is accepting these airlines.

Generally, the Air China provides connecting flights with many local airlines in your country. As it is the largest airline in China running international flight, there is quite small odd that you will get luggage lost or delayed. And you could have some rest during the long-time flight by dividing this into one or two stops with cheap tickets.

Vacation Access to Chinese Hawaii: Sanya

The most attracting point of china travel is the wide territory which allows you to experience various climates, cultures and natural scenes. China covers 5 time zones and the distance between northernmost and southernmost points of China is about 5,500km. And Sanya is the nearest tourism city in Hainan province from the southern border of China. The climate there is like what in Hawaii: Tropical marine monsoon climate. The easiest and cheapest way to travel to Sanya is by airplane which takes 4 hours. It can be as low-priced as $150 for direct flights by China Southern Airlines. Or you can take the train T201 for 35 hours and the price is $110 to $200 for different levels of sleeper compartments; I believe you would not want to try sit on the seats for 35 hours. The attractions of travelling by train are that you can see the quite different views from north to south of China and the train will pass under the Qiong Sea.

The best season for Sanya tour is between September to the coming April, as the autumns and winters here are so nice and warm. The average temperature of the whole year is 25.4℃. The hottest and coldest month is July and January respectively. The average temperature is 28.4℃ in July, while the average temperature for January is 21℃. So even in so-called winter, you can still be the beachgoers. Here you can enjoy the natural sunbathing. Interesting things on Sanya beaches are that you will see rents sold everywhere on each beach. These rents are for people who are worried about getting sunburns but still want to spend some times on the beach.

Although there are Sanya bay, Eastern Seas in Sanya for beachgoers, the most popular beach, from opinions of Chinese netizens, is Asian Dragon Bay. It is the southernmost bay of Sanya and the length is 7.5km which is three times of beaches in Hawaii. The sea temperature is around 22-25.1℃ which is available for swimming through the whole year. The sea water is very clean and the visibility is up to 10 meters below the surface. Asian Dragon Bay is the field of well-preserved corals and the home of various colorful tropical fishes. It also includes the rare rain forests where you may try an adventure trip. A large amount of hotels are around this bay. These hotels also have the special rooms for sea views and are only a little bit more expensive. But I would rather spend more 30 bucks so that I can enjoy the beautiful sea views just by standing in my own room. The most fantastic thing about Asian Dragon Bay is that this is the “Noah’s ark” for tourists when the strongest rains continues battling Hainan province for a week. This flood seems to cause nothing effects on this Bay, so that tourists in Sanya is so lucky compared with other travelers in Hainan who are trapped in the hotels. As the tourism is the major industry in Sanyam, you can easily take the special tourist bus line or route 102 for RMB 5-10 yuan, or you can take the taxi. But remember to bargain the prices with the taxi drivers!

When you are in Sanya, the tasteful but cheap sea foods should not be missed. It is much cheaper than Europe, even occasionally with some tricks for additional prices. So what I am going to introduce is how to have cheap sea food dinners. These are the restaurants and tips from Chinese tourists, who shared their experiences online. The best way to avoid scam prices is to buy the sea foods on your own from the market and ask some restaurants to cook for you. This is called the DIY sea food menus. The top choice of sea food market is the First Market (第一市场) where you do not need to worry too much about being gauged. Goolge it or ask your guides for the directions at first. Once you have picked up your favorite sea foods, you can go to local restaurants that provide the processing service. The best one voted by Chinese netizens is 168 sea food processing store. It is about RMB 6 yuan for processing a pound of seafood and it is cheaper for the hot pot style.

A lot more interesting points of Hainan tourist will be posted later on. Last thing want to point out is that if you want to experience the under-sea train but are scared by the long journey, you could Travel to Guangzhou at first and take trains there directly.

Some Tips for Cheap Air Tickets

Generally speaking, air travel exceeds other traveling means in speed, but it also costs more. Almost every traveler would like to choose to travel by air if they have enough money. However, most of us would like to experience a wonderful travel with as little money as possible. To save our money, it is necessary for us to learn some tips for getting cheap air tickets. This article will list some advices given by experienced travelers who usually take China Flights, be it Beijing Flights or any other flights.

1.      Booking Air Tickets in Advance

It usually costs less to book your air ticket in advance. Generally speaking, 15 days before your departure date is the optimal time to book your ticket. However, this is not absolute. Air price also depends on the hotness of the airlines and the seasons. If it is a hot airline in the busy seasons, you will probably have less opportunity to get a discount fare.

2.      Choosing the Right Flight Time

We all know that flights at different times offer different prices. Usually early and night flights are rather cheaper than day flights. And on Monday, Tuesday and after the golden weeks there are always some discount air tickets provided by airline companies. So to save money, you’d better choose the right time to buy your tickets if your time is flexible.

3.      Choosing Connecting Flights When Necessary

Airline companies usually offer some connecting flights which get 20% or 30% discount more than direct flights. For example, if you want to travel from Hanzhou to Urumqi, you can choose a connecting flight from Hanzhou to Xi’an and then from Xi’an to Urumqi instead of a direct flight. By doing so, you can save a lot of money. However, it may cost you more time. Again, if you have flexible time you can do so.

4.      Buying Group Tickets

Group tickets are much cheaper than individual tickets. So, try to find as many people as possible when you plan a travel. There are two ways to buy group tickets. In the first way, you can directly go to the sales office of an airline company. In the other way, you can book group tickets in a local top travel agency as top travel agencies have usually signed contract with some airline companies and they can offer discount tickets to customers.

5.      One-way Tickets or Round-trip Tickets?

For convenience, some travelers may book round-trip tickets if they have planned to travel to one place and then come back directly. Usually, round-trip tickets are cheaper than single tickets from the same airline. However, different airlines offer different discount tickets for the same distance. For example, Company A may offer a 60% discount ticket from Beijing to Shanghai and 30% discount tickets from Shanghai to Beijing, while Company B offers 50% off tickets from Beijing to Shanghai and 40% off tickets from Shanghai to Beijing. In this example, you’d better choose a single ticket from Company A when you leave Beijing for Shanghai and another one from Company B when you come back instead of any round-trip tickets.

 6. Taking Advantage of Powerful Searching Engines

If you don’t have much time to look for ticket information by yourself, you can go to some powerful searching engines like Qunar, Kuxun and Taobao. They collect ticket information from all the main airlines and their agents. You can choose your departure date and destination on their webpage and they will offer a list of ticket information ordered from lower price to higher price. You can also observe the price trend on these websites, which will greatly help you make your travel plans.

7.      Buying Cheap Ticket From Airline Website

Airline companies often offer some promotions and discounts on their official websites. These discounted tickets are rather cheaper than those provided by agents. So if there happens to be a ticket for your destination, don’t miss such a chance. The only condition is that you register on their websites and become a member of these airlines. Sometimes, if you pay by your credit card, you can enjoy more discounts.

8.      Choosing a Nearby Airport

Sometimes we can choose to land on an airport near our destination if the direct ticket is too expensive. This is like a connecting ticket. For example, if we want to go from Beijing to Lijiang, we can buy a ticket from Beijing to Yunnan and then take other means say by rail to Lijiang. This will save us a lot of money. In addition to saving money, you can also enjoy more sightseeing during your road.

So, that’s the advice from experienced travelers. I hope they can really help save your money. Enjoy your china travel!
