If you’re interested in Chinese grand culture and history, Shandong is certainly a good choice.


Shandong , with a history of more than 5000 years, is considered one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization. Shandong has also been the home of a large number of historical figures, whose influence are still evident in contemporary China.


The major historical sites in the Shandong province are:

The inscription on clay pots unearthed at Dawenkou and Dinggongcun in Shandong are believed to bear the earliest Chinese written language; The ruins of ancient Longshan City which is considered the earliest city in China; Potions of the Great Wall built during the Qi State period which is believed the most ancient great wall in the county. Most importantly, famous for the title as “ A mountain, A spring , A saint” , the Mount Tai ,the Baotu Spring, and the “Three Cons” is undoubtly on your trip list. Climbing the Mount Tai, appreciating the spectacular ruins of the sacrificing sites of Chinese emperors; drinking a bottle of the Baotu spring , taste the sweet and clear water the same as the Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty; visiting the the Mansion, Temple and Cemetery of Confucius, to respect and memorize the great Chinese saint, to worship his profound wisdom and learn the essence of Chinese philosophy…


Shandong is also considered the birthplace of China’s pottery, porcelain and silk. Throughout the province the tourist can find traditional items like the clocks and watches of Yantai, the porcelain of Zibo, the kites of Weifang and the shell-carving of Qingdao.
