Zhushan Xiugu means “the elegant valley of the mountains.” It lies on the eastern slope of Dazhushan Mountain and is more than one and a half miles long. At the bottom of the valley, a stream flows through and pours into the artificial lake at the foot of the mountain. Walking along the bank of the lake, you can see the clear shadow of the mountain in the water. It is so calm and picturesque.
Spring comes earlier to the valley. Before Tomb-Sweeping Day (April 4th), the cherries, apricots and peaches blossom in turn. After that the valley and the mountains are covered with a carpet of flowers. When the flowers sway in the wind, the mountain and the valley look like a waving sea and it is totally gorgeous. If you explore deeper into the valley, you will come across a mountain that splits the valley into two. Walking along the one leading to the north, you will see azaleas thickly growing from the bottom to the top of the mountain, dyeing the world red. Standing at the foot of the hill and looking up, you will feel as if the flowers are floating down from the sky. The flower season is extremely popular with the visitors.
