It is a pity that you have been to Guilin but did’t visit the Lijiang River. However, it is a greater pity that you have been to Yangshuo but din’t visit the Yulong River. Activities such as bamboo raft and drifting began on Yulong River since January, 2001. In fact, it was several photographers who suggested local fishermen to manage these activities. During holidays like May Day and National Day, over 100 bamboo rafts are extremely busy from morning to night and are booked up soon everyday. Drifting begins at 6am and then ends at 8pm.
Best time to visit Yulong River
The best time to visit Yulong River is from April to November, which is also the peak season of Guilin’s tourism industry. In March and April, water is quite clear and grasses are verdant. Fields on the two sides of Yulong River are filled with colorful wide flowers. What comes into your eyes is charming vividness, pure and fresh, gladden the heart and please the eye. At the moment, water of Yulong River looks particularly limpid and verdurous, which owes to the deposition of the whole winter and the fresh spring rain. The peculiar litte bitty stinging rain in spring makes the mountain peak be permeated with thick fog and smoke, looks as if a fairyland. In June and July, Yulong River becomes dynamic and vigorous. Water fighting with several friends and swimming in the river can give you a refreshing experience.
