It is difficult to ask the way into downtown areas of Kunming because most people in Kunming speak with a different dialect. Therefore, it is inconvenient to communicate with them. Best time to visit the Dian Lake
There is neither cold winter nor hot summer in Kunming, so it’s called “Spring City”. The climate is humid/monsoon with the yearly average temperature 15℃. The average temperature of the hottest month is 19~22℃ while that of the coldest month is 6~8℃. The temperature difference of a day in Kunming is quite big and it can be 12~20℃ in spring and winter, so don’ t forget to take a sweater or coat when you go there.
The rainy season of Kunming is from May to October. Once it rains, the temperature will drop, so you’d better take a wind coat. It is appropriate to visit Kunming all the year round, but the best time is from March to October, when there are many minority festivals in the Yunnan Province as well as lots of fruits and flowers. Therefore, you will experience the harvest here if you come at that time.
