Wupai River, also called Xunjiang River, is the best filed for competition and training of slalom in China which is at the foot of the highest mountain of South China- Maoer Mountain, in Ziyuan County of Guilin City, 138 kilometers away from Guilin. It originates from 1883 meters high Jinzi Mountain and it is the second longest river in Ziyuan County, belonging to Zhujiang River water system. It is very convenient to take a direct bus to the dock of driftage. It wins the title of “Hukou of Yellow River” and “Hutiao Gorge” of Guilin, which is famous for “dangerous waters, strange stones, dense forests and beautiful waterfalls”.

The driftage of Wupai River is about 30 kilometers long, with more than 200 meters’ drop height. There is no underground river and whirlpool during the whole driftage period and the drop height is less than 2 meters, which makes driftage exciting but safe, so Wupai River is not only suitable for common driftage, but also suitable for the competition and training of Canoe.

The most precious river segment for explorations and driftage is from Chetian to Hekou, which is about 30 kilometers long. The width of Wupai River is from 5 to 30 meters. The views that come into your eyes are streams of turbulent rivers, white waves blowing on your face and rubber boats riding and dipping. Before coming into the rapids, you are dry and clean, but after driftage, you will become all wet.

The surging Wupai River, like a uncontrollably wild horse, galloping in the deep valley. Exploring at Wupai River, the wild field and thrill of venture will make people become braver, from coward to hero as well as make people experience the endless joy of conquering the nature. Wupai River is the only site that can satisfy the conditions for world- class competition and training. In August, 2001, the invitation competition of Wupai River driftage was held successfully. Now Wupai River is new sport travelling brand which integrate sport travelling, ecological leisure, body built-up, exploration and driftage, and training of slalom.
