Wupai River is the best place for intensified training and competitions of slalom in China. The width of Wupai River ranges from 5 meters to 30 meters and the head drop between upper reaches and lower reaches is about 300 meters. The breathtaking adverture is sufficient to turn ordinary men to heroes, turn cowards to warriors and make humans to enjoy the pleasure to conqure nature. It is not appropriate for children under 14 years old, people with high blood pressure and heart disease and the handicapped to drift. In the process of drifting, you should follow the command of sailors, fasten life jacket and hold on safety rope, never curvet and get round in the boat. Stone riprap on the river bed is so aculeated that you can’t swim in the river.
Best time to visit Wupai River
Drifting on Wupai River is a seasonal tourism program, held from the midmonth of April to the midmonth of October. The best drifting time is from the midmonth of May to the beginning of Sepetemper.

Note that:
1. There are no student tickets or any other discounted tickets for drifting on Wupai River.
2. There are two sailors on each rubber boat, 7 tourists at most on one boat;
If there are less than six people, they still ought to buy six tickets;
Over 8 people but within 12 people: buy 12 tickets
Over 12 people: buy tickets based on the actual number of people
3. There are two special buses returning to the starting point of drifting. If the driver also goes drifting, he needs a designated driver or rent the other car to take tourists back at the terminal point.
How to get to Wupai River
Wupai River is 33 meters away from the county town of Ziyuan, which is 106 kilometres (approximately 2hours) away from the urban area of Guilin.
The nonstop scheduled bus: 23 yuan/person, comes seven times a day
The ordinary bus: 21 yuan/person, comes every 20 minutes (6:40-18:00)
Take the fast bus (Guilin-Ziyuan) at Guilin Bus Master Station (Seven buses a day), then rent a car at Ziyuan (30 yuan/person, round-trip).
