Mountain Maoer is one of the main forestry area’s with rich water resources in Guangxi. It is the headstream of Lijiang River, Zijiang River, and Xunjiang River, connecting with Zhujiang River and Changjiang River. There are 39 rivers emanating from here, among which 19 rivers afflux into Lijiang River, 4 rivers afflux into Zijiang River and 16 rivers afflux into Xunjiang River. The instant water storage of forest vegetation is about 47,383,200 cubic meters and the runoff of one year is 314,000,000 cubic meters, which is equal to saving hundred million Yuan for the construction of water conservancy.
It is natural green reservoir in name and in fact, which brings benefits to a number of counties and cities. Only in Guilin city, there are more than 30 towns, 100 villages, over 300,000 hectare of farmland and over millions of people in Guilin city and suburbs, Ziyuan, Longsheng, Xingan, Lingchuan, Yangshuo, and Pingle which directly benefit from it. Mountain Maoer also provides rich water resources for the sightseeing of Lijiang River and drifting of Zijiang River and Five Rows River.
