The Xiangba Island

The Xiangba Island is located 500 meters away from the Guanyan Cave. It is the only art garden on the Lijiang River. The island exhibits both traditional and modern artworks. The combination of beautiful landscape and elegant artworks has made the Xiangba Island a romantic paradise.

The total area of the Xiangba Island is about 33 hectares, with a forest that covers more than 80 percents of it. The forest consists of camphor trees, peach trees, grapefruit trees and bushes. During spring and summer, the island is verdant and is dotted with fragrant flowers, while in the autumn and winter, it is richly decorated with red leaves. Thanks to its isolate location, the island is free from industrial pollutions, and retains it original natural beauty.

On the Xiangba Island, there are theatrical stages for ethnic customs performance, an exhibition of artworks, resting and camping areas where you can have dinner. In August 2000, a famous art magazine invited hundreds of artists to this small island and created artworks there. These artworks were later the main part of the exhibition. Apart from the beautiful landscape on the island, there are also eight marvelous scenic spots around it, such as the Suspended Coffin, the Gateway to the Land of Peach Blossoms, and the Painted Cliff. While you experience the Chinese culture, you can enjoy the graceful scenes too.
