The Northern Square of the Wild Goose Tower is a splendid plaza made up of fountains, a cultural square, a garden section, a cultural gallery, and business sections for tourists. It covers an area of around 6.5 hectares, with a floor area of 11 hectares. It stretches 218 meters from east to west, and 364 meters from north to south. The square, with the facilities on it, costs for more than 50 million yuan.
The square is divided into 2 parts by a central axis formed of fountains. The famous Wild Goose Tower is situated right at the midpoint of the fountain road. The Poetic Garden Section, the Buddhist Parterre, and the Buddhist Avenue lie beside the fountain road. In the south end of the square, there is a man-made waterfall, a theme section of fountains, and an observation platform. All the fountains on the square cover an area of 2 hectares, making it the largest fountain square in Asia.
The Northern Square is also famous for its sculptures. There are two group carvings, eight large statues, and 40 relief sculptures on the square. The scale of sculptures there is one of the largest in Asia.
Meanwhile, the square holds many other world records. For example, it is the plaza with the largest number of benches, the longest light band, and the largest scale of acoustic equipment in the world. In addition, don’t forget to try the wash rooms on the square if you visit there, because it is the best non-contact wash rooms in the world.
