The Lotus Cave

The Lotus Cave is one of the most mysterious world wonders. Rumor has it that inside a cave in the Karst region of Yugoslavia, people discovered eight lotus-like stalactites, and then claimed it an unbelievable wonder. However, there are 108 lotus-like stalactites inside the Lotus Cave. It would be no exaggeration to say the Lotus Cave is a wonder among all the world wonders.

The Lotus Cave is 32 kilometers away from the downtown of Yangshuo County. The magical scenes inside it was not discovered until the beginning of the 20th century, when local residents hid into the cave to avoid warfares. The entrance of the cave is very narrow, people had to crawl into it slowly. That’s why the cave used to be call the Crawling Cave. In the year of 1964, one of the central government leaders of China came to visit the Xingping Town, and was curious about the legendary lotus inside the cave. So he went into the cave with other villagers, and was deeply impressed by the lotus-like stalactites. He then decided to made the Lotus Cave a tourist attraction. It was after that that the Lotus Cave become a famous world wonder.

The cave is 25 meters at its widest point, and less than 0.5 meter at its narrowest point. Its total length is 600 meters. Besides the lotus-like stalactites, there are stalactites of all kinds in the cave, such as buddha-like stalactites, animal-like stalactites, and forest-like stalactites. All these miraculous scenes will surely take your breath away.
