Sight-Seeing Rail Car Track of Guanyan was constructed for the convenience of the tourists. The track was completed in 1999 and was the first electricity-powered sight-seeing track in the country. The Council of Shanghai Great World Guinness has rated the Sight-Seeing Rail Car Track as the longest of its kind in the world. It is in harmony with its surroundings, and the tourists can enjoy not only the view of the cave but also the pleasure of gliding close to the ground. The Guanyan track takes advantage of the state-of-the-art technology. The cross section of the track is arc-shaped and so car travels smooth. The track is environmentally-friendly for it occupies only a small area of land. The rail car is powered by 45 v dc. It can climb and turn and is very reliable. The total length of the track is 3.2 kilometres and the speed can reach 15 m/s. Passengers can set their own speed easily, making the car ride an interesting tourist item. The rail car track was open to public on June 28, 2000.
