Some compare shopping in Beijing with shopping in New York and rightly so. Beijing is the capital of China and your shopping experiences will never fall short here. Whether you are looking to get your haggling hat on and head to the markets, or prefer a much more sophisticated approach to shopping, you can find it all. There are many great malls in Beijing that compare if not exceed the range and styles of malls you get around the world. Raffles City is one of them, as it is centrally located near to the business district, it create a lot more business and caters for all. So when you Travel to Beijing, make sure you visit Raffles City on your Beijing Tours.

Located at Dongzhimen, the Beijing version of this popular Shanghai shopping mall has 29,716 sq. meters of shopping space and a huge parking lot. There are 5 floors and each floor has its unique theme.  Level one is deemed as being the celebrity walk, with many international brands such as the world renowned Zara, Lactose and CK jeans. The second floor has got more of the vogue vibe going on, targeting business executives and other similar types of people, with stores such as the Danish famous Vera Moda. Level three is more of the chic zone, where you are able to find shops such as Australia’s forever new. The chill out spot, is located on floor four, they have leisure ware on that floor, such as Speedo. Level 5 has a lot of food restaurants as does the basement. Raffles City are trying to bring names from across he globe to make it one of the biggest international malls around and have recently opened up a H&M.

Throughout my one month internship in Beijing, I went to the mall every day to eat. The range of food does not disappoint and the quality is on par with their shops.  Two food areas are available; the first is situated on the bottom floor. Here you will be able to find Western favourites such as KFC and Subway, as well as typical Chinese cuisine. There is a different variety of what’s on offer at Raffles City on the 5th floor. There you will find more upper market restaurants serving everything from BBQ dishes to more traditional Chinese restaurants. Not only this but there is also a Costa coffee, if you want get a quick, ‘pick me up’ and something sweet to eat. Other sweet foods that can be found is Haagen-Dazs, there is a flavour to suit very mood in there, and the taste is truly incredible.

So if your working around Beijing, or go there on a trip, don’t forget to visit Raffles city. Fly with Air China today and you could be there tomorrow.
