Ocean Park Hong Kong (simplified Chinese: 香港海洋公园; traditional Chinese:香港海洋公園; pinyin:xiāng gǎng hǎi yang gōng yuán; literally “Ocean Park Hong Kong”) is a marine – based large theme park. It is located in the Huangzhu Kengof the southern Hong Kong. It is officially opening in October 1st 1997. In 2007, the numbers of visitors reached into 4.9 million, ranked the sixteen in the world and fifth in Asia-Pacific region. Ocean Park Hong Kong is divided into 3 parts. They are in the mountain garden in the north side, the south, also the south and the Dashu Wan of Nanlang Mountain. The park covers an area of 17 hectares and it has more than 40 entertainment facilities. The cable car in the mountain and the ocean train of the Nanlang Mountain are connected. There is the second longest elevator in the world between the Nanlang Mountain and Dashu Wan.
Ocean Park is also divided into lowlands and highlands and an elevator between them. There are 250 cable cars and it can take 5000 people per hour. The distance of the two places is 1.4km and it will take 6 minutes of you take the cable car. You can see the Shenshui Wan and the Xianggang Zai and other beautiful sceneries. Except take the cable car, you also can take the elevator from the entrance of the Dahu Wan. The elevator is 225 meters long and it can take 4000 people per hour and it is a 30°slope. It will be very excited when take it.
The Ocean Park Hong Kong has the largest aquarium of the Southeast Asia and theme amusement park. The park is closes to ocean and depends on mountains and is the most popular place of Hong Kong. You can not only see the interesting open-air amusement park and dolphin show, but also all kinds of fishes and the ocean skyscraping tower. Also you will see perfect combination of the excited Yuekuang roller coaster and speed journey.
The new “the Pacific Ocean Coast” runs over with the culture charming and beautiful sceneries. In the quiet sandy beach, you can see lovely sea lions and sea dogs welcome visitors.
Ocean Park Hong Kong is the largest ocean park. It covers an area 170 acre. It is located in the Nanlang Mountain and the Huangzhu valley. There are the Aquarium, the Ocean Theater, the Sea Waves House and the maneuvering games. In the foot of the mountain there are water the Amusement Park, the Garden Theater, the Goldfish House and the ancient villages. The villages have pavilions, temples and the buildings and folk shows in the villages imitate China ancient architectures and reflect ancient China. The pandas Anan and Jiajia donated by central government are very popular. And the pandas Yingying and Lele donated by central government in tenth anniversary of Hong Kong returns are opened for visit. You can take the cable car or the elevator to visit the park.
