The Jellyfish House was open in 10th April, 2006. It covers an area of 4500 square kilometers and it is the first independent jellyfish house in the Southeast Asia. The jelly house collected more than 1000 jellyfishes. The jellyfishes are kept in a round container and looks like circle round flow water in ocean. It consists of colloidal body which looks like an umbrella. You will see many “umbrellas” float in the water from long distance. There are many kinds of jellyfishes. It is about 250 kinds of jellyfishes in the world. The diameter of the jellyfish is between 10cm to 100cm and some special jellyfish’s diameter reach to 200cm. They live in the ocean all over the world. We classify jellyfish according to the shapes. The shape like an umbrella and send out Silverlight are called silver jellyfish. Some looks like the hat of a monk are called monk’s hat jellyfish. And other look like white sail in the ship, so called sail jellyfish. Also some jellyfishes look like umbrella, people called them umbrella jellyfish. Still some look like send out colorful clouds and people called color clouds jellyfish. Jellyfishes are only can live couples weeks, some can live a year and some jellyfishes in the depth ocean will live longer.
Jellyfishes’ bodies are full of water make them look transparent and can float in the water. When jellyfishes swim, the tentacles stretch and float with the waters look beautiful.
There are many precious kinds of jellyfishes. The Yue jellyfish’s shape is look like a small fish. After they eat, we can see some orange Fengnian Shrimps in their stomach. The Chaotian Jellyfish stay in the water bottom instead of float in the water. The Eight Claws Jellyfishes like take a sunbath in sunny day and sleep in the water bottom in the evening. The colorful jellyfish have mini body and make people love them. The sharp jellyfish is the Kahaila Jellyfishes. There are some colorful lines in their backs and also have poison thorn. The light, airflow and background music are all cooperate with the ocean philosophy. The visitors will feel whisper with jellyfishes in the wave sounds and the changes of colorful lights.
