Mountain Maoer is a high mountain scenic spot with 112 kinds of rare animals and 1436 species of wild plants, in which azaleas take up 36 species alone. The well-known precious ahemlock trees were left behind from the glacial period and are called “living fossil” in vegetable kingdom with megasequoias and gingkoes. In addition, famous relic species of the Tertiary period still live in Mountain Maoer. A large number of the most representative primitive species in Orchidaceae—Liriodendron Chinenses, still live in the northwest gorge of Mountain Maoer. Besides, there exists the representative plant of Lardizabalaceae— The FargesDecaisneaRoot, newly recorded plant in Guangxi—LitseaRubescens, Euonymus Euscaphis, Rhododendron Stamineum,Viburnum, PatriniaHeterophylla Bunge and other rare species. The climate is mild with the annual average temperature 14℃,having four distinctive seasons. It is suitable to visit Mountain Maoer all the year round.

  1. Tickets: 50 yuan for each person
  2. Children: free of charge( children under 1.2 meters);
  3. Off-season: November 1st to March 31st of the next year;
  4. Peak season: April 1st to October 31st;
  5. Students: half price

How to get to Mountain Maoer

Mountain Maoer is located at the edge of Xingan County and Ziyuan County, 56 kilometers away from Xingan County and 81 kilometers away from Guilin. You can take the long-distance bus(Guilin—Mountain Maoer) at Guilin Bus Station. The ticket costs 11 yuan.
