Even in midsummer, the weather of Longqing Gorge is pleasantly cool, with fresh air. The temperature is about 6 degree’s lower than that in the urban area of Beijing, even 0.8 degree’s lower than Emperor Kangxi’s Summer Mountain Resort in Chengde. However, it is extremely cold in winter with quite a long ice formation period. Thanks to the low temerature, the ice art came into being here, making Longqing Gorge a world full of ice engravings and a paradise of ice and snow.
