Terraces can be seen here and there, but it is rare to see such large-scale and extensive terraces as Longji Terrace. In Longji Terrace tourist area, hiking is very popular. When go hiking and search for attractions in stockaded villages, many branch roads would appear, so you have to remember to go along flagstone walk. If you still can’t find the right way, you can ask farmers who are working besides the road. They are warm-hearted and will show the way to you with open arms.
Best time to visit Longji Terrace
After the lular April 15th and the half month after Mid-autumn Festival of each year, Longji Terrace begin to drawing off water.
The snowscape of Longji Terrace is amazing. But the time of snowing is quite uncertain; tourists have to depend on luck. The hottest month is July with the average temperature of 28.3℃; the coldest month is January with the average temperature of 7.9℃. Weather in Longji Terrace is constanly changing, so raincoats and winter clothes are always necessary.

How to get to Longji Terrace
There are three entrances in the terrace district, Pingan Village, Longji Village and Dazhai. Tourists can get to any entrance from the urban area of Guilin.
Pingan Village Extrance
- Take express bus from Guilin to Longsheng County（tickets:15 yuan; takes two hours;departure time: 8：00、9：10、11：00、12：00、13：10、14：00、15：10、16：10、l7：10、18：20。）Then transffer to bus from Longsheng to Pianan parking lot (tickets:6.5 yuan; takes one hour;depature time: 7：30、9：00、11：00、13：00、15：00、17：00。）Finally walk 20 minutes to Pingan stockaged village.
- The returning route is the same, but be careful with different depature time. Depature time of the bus: 7：20、8：50、13：00、15：00、16：30。
Dazhai Entrance
Take express bus from Guilin to Longsheng County (the same as the Pingan Village Entrance), then transfer bus (Longsheng—Dahu Hill) at Longsheng Bus Station (tickets:6.5yuan-8 yuan; takes one hour;departure time:7:00—17:00, there is a bus every 20 minutes).Finally, take a minibus or motorcycle at Dahu Hill, which is directly to Dazhai;tickets: 3 yuan).
Longji Village Entrance:
- If don’t go to Dazhai, tourists can walk from Seven Beauties in Pingan Village, taking 40 minutes. Terraces here are spectacular.
- Climb terraces from highway, or walk a few minutes to a footpath under constrction at Longji intersection. It takes 3 hours to go along the footpath to Longji Village, which help you to save the ticket fee.
