Kangxi Grassland is long and narrow in the north and south with the lakeshore. The streams are wandering and soft green grass carpets the ground. There grow burweed plants like clovers and chrysanthemum indium on the grassland and lakefront. Moreover, hares, foxes and field mice often have fun here, and swans like to fly near the grassland. The most attractive point of Kangxi Grassland is that tourists can ride horses and run like the wind. In the long stable, fine horses of different colors and various breeds are put in order trimly. Some horses are staunch with moral integrity, wind and intractable while others are moderate in temper and are glad to have a photo taken with tourists. When rides a horse on the grassland, melodious fluting and straightford sound of singing outline a picture of Mongolia’s distinguishing features for you. Tourists can BBQ, self-help down home cooking, roast whole rabbits or lambs, and traditional water banquet, which all have their own special flavor, so you are not allowed to miss them.

Best time to visit the Kangxi Grassland

The temperature of Kangxi Grassland is constantly low (the yearly average temperature is 8.4 centidegrees). The moist and cool climate makes it a perfect summer resort. Of course, besides the midsummer, you can also come to appreciate a magnificent scene of the north in winter. The natural ice rink formed by the frozen lake surface is a good place to skate, play sled and go fishing after breaking the ice, fully experiencing the joy of going fishing in a frozen and snow-covered land. It is quite cold on the grassland in winter and sometimes the wind is very strong, so you had better bring thermal overcoats with you, in case that any aliments affect your wonderful trip.

How to get to the Kangxi Grassland

By bus: 1. There are four round-trip No 919 branch line fast bus from Deshengmen in Beijing to Kangxi Grassland everyday. 7am-9am; 2pm to 5pm, buses run from opposite directions.

       2. Take Line S2 Y bullet train at Beijing North Station to Yanqing Station (Nancaiyuan Railway Station), then transfer to NO 920 Bus. Or take Beijing-Baotou train, directly to Kangzhuang Station.
