Baofu Rock sited in the east and faced the west. It is 60 meters high, 50 meters deep and 180 meters long. It consists of two layers. It holds over two hundred halls and houses in its ‘stomach’. It is the unique scenery in the world. In the rock, there has Yunfeng Temple which was originally built in the Three Kingdoms Period. It has a history of over 1,700 years. The architectural style of Yunfeng Temple is similar with The Hanging Temple which is still maintained after several damages. In the past, the name of Yunfeng Temple had changed many times. Sometimes it was named as Baofu Temple, as it was built in the Baofu Rock; sometimes it was called as Yunfeng Temple, as it is situated on the steep cliff of Mian Mountain and always covered by cloud and mist; sometimes it was called as Dayan Temple which means Big Rock Temple, as the Baofu Rock is so big that it can contain one hundred temples.
Hang bell on the Baofu Rock is an attraction in Mian Mountain. Every Temple Festival, worshippers who had made wishes hire people from the top of rock using line to lift up people who will hang bell. And then swing the line in order to put people into the cave in the rock. The people in the cave use steel hooks to fasten themselves on the rock, and then hang the bell. All woks finished, people also use line to get down. The whole process is dangerous and exciting. You will be shocked when you see the process.
