Located in Gaotian District of Yangshuo County, Big Banyan Park is on the bank of Jinbao River. On the opposite side of the river there is a narrow passage through the middle of a stone hill, making Big Banyan Park also known as Chuanyan Big Banyan. 7.5 kilometers away from Chuanyan Village, Gaotian District and on the south shore of Jinbao River, there is an old banyan whose crown is shaped like a gigantic green umbrella. Planted in the Jin dynasty (over 1500 years ago), the tree proudly displays its twisted roots and gnarled branches with luxuriant foliage. It is said that Third Sister Liu and Brother Aniu expressed their love for each other under this tree. The shimmering Jinbao River flows quietly underneath, as clear as a mirror. The ferry dock between the banyan and Chuanyan Hill is called Ancient Banyan Shadow Ferry, another place well worth a visit.
