Seven Stars Park (simplified Chinese:七星公园; traditional Chinese: 七星公園; pinyin: Qīxīng Gōng Yuán; literally “Seven stars park”) located on the east coast of the Lijiang River, covers an area of 3642 acres. It is the largest and the most popular widespread park in Guilin. The Seven stars Park is famous for the seven stars mountain peaks which are like the stars are falling. The park has the “big dipper”, “hump red cloud”, “crescent shadow”, “Putuo stone forest” and some other resorts. The park combines the beauty of mountains, rivers, caves and stones. The famous scenic spots are the seven stars rock, hidden dragon caves, crescent rock, Zenggong mountain, camel rock, hidden dragon rock and flower bridge, crescent houses, children’s park, zoo, tombs of three generals and eight hundred heroes, mosques, Bonsai Art, Guihai monuments and so on. The Seven stars park is located on the east coast of the Lijiang River and it is 1km to the center of the city. It composes of Tianshu, Tianxuan, Tianji and Tianquan’s four peaks of putuo Mountain and Yashan Yu Heng, Kaiyang and Yaoguang three peaks. The mountain’s name comes from Putuo crescent, the one in the east connects to the other in the west, and they look like the big dipper. Seven stars rock are in the middle of Putuo mountain of Seven Stars Park, also called Qixia cave, Bixu rock and so on. The name of seven stars rock started from the Song Dynasty. Now Seven Stars Park has become one of the most famous scenic resorts and it is a beautiful place you should not miss.

1. Putuo stone forest

Putuo stone forest is located in the middle of Putuo Mountain and is in front of Putuo temple. It is 9 meters high and covers an area of 150 square meters. According to the legend, Tang Dynasty’s officials selected stones as a tribute

to the palace. The emperor Lishimin’s liked the stones very much, and treated the stones as “Rui stone.” He collected lots of them in his palace. Emperor Lishimin commanded Lijing to check where the stones come from and finally he knew the stones came from Putuo Mountain. He ordered Qinglin to be built with beautiful views. Putuo stone forest is rugged, extraordinary and the most picturesque. It has won the first place in three stone forest of Guilin.

2. Meet in Magpie bridge

Chinese has an old saying:”Jack shall have Jill.” But in Chinese legend there is a pair of poor lovers who can only meet each other one time a year on the 7th of July. In the legend, there is a cow herds man and a weaving maid. They just see each other across the magpie bridge because god punishes them for not obeying the rules of the heavens palce, which is called the middle of forhead. The god draw a line in the sky and the line is the famous magpie bridge. We are in one of the most splendid scenic resorts in seven stars rock now—the time tunnel, which is composed of 12continuously laser beams and forms a conical tunnel. We will roam through the outer space. The foot of the bridge is the meeting place of the cow herds man and the weaving maid. Maybe they have been together through the time tunnel we built for them.
