Putuo Mountain is the main body of the Seven Stars Park composed of peaks called Tianniu, Tianxuan, Tianji and Tianquan in the northwest. Putuo Mountain is 265 meters high. People went to worship Goddess of Mercy on the hill. There are many rocks and pavilions on Putuo Mountain. The most famous rock is Seven Stars Rock and the most exquisite pavilions are Xiaxi Pavilion and Bixu Pavilion. In the west of the mountain, there is Yuanfeng Cave where air is nice and cool in the hot summer. Putuo Gate is the mountain’s entrance. On the hill, there are stone forests, Xuanwu Pavilions and other landscape spots. Zhaixing Pavilion is on the top of Tianji Peak. Zhaixing in Chinese means reaching for stars.
Putuo Mountain is a significant protected attraction in Guilin City, including the Seven Stars Rock and 251 pieces of inscriptions in Qixia Temple. Bixu Pavilion is on the mountain pass of the Putuo Mountain. Putuo Gate is in the south of Putuo Mountain and it was built in 1972.
