Jing Feng Pavilion is situated on the platform in front of the wind tunnel’s south mouth. This pavilion was built in Hui Chang period in Tang dynasty(618—907). It was refurbished by the successive dynasties. However, many of its occupants caused damage to the Pavilion, which resulted e.g. in destroying the precious carvings during Anti-Japanese War (1937-1945). According to the print “Fan Cha Figure” by artist Zhangbao, Jing Feng Pavilion is a rectangular building with double eaves and crest. Qing Bao , an official from Qing dynasty, in his work entitled “the study on record of Jing Feng Pavilion” noted that:“Jing Feng Pavilion is located between Si Wang Mountain and Yu Yue Mountain, next to the Guang Ye River. Extensive and windy, it leans on the big river. During hot summers, any go there to take rest.’’ Artists of successive dynasties left many beautiful poetic carvings in the Jing Fen Pavilion. The 100-year old patriot Ma Xiangbo, Kang Youwei, one of the most prominent scholar of the late Qing dynasty, who launched the constitutional reform, used to live there.
