Diecai Tai Chi Cave

On July 18, 2011, in China Attractions, Grottoes, Guilin, by Jack Li

Diecai Tai Chi Cave is situated in the mountainside of Bright Moon Hall.  Its south mouth is in the southwest of Beiyou cave; its north mouth faces the Deng Shan Crossing. Inside, it is separated by the stone pillars, which make it resemble the two Yin-yang fish of Tai Chi.  That is why the cave is called Diecai Tai Chi Cave.  The cave gate is 3m high and 4.2 wide. In total, the cave covers an area of 50 square meters. The name “Tai Chi Cave” is carved on the north mouth.  Roads from the starting point to the end of the cave are wind and twist. Moreover, the visibility in the cave is quite low.  The north mouth is large and allows light to come through. In contrast, the south mouth is small and hidden. It is so dark, that initially you can’t even see your own fingers.  But as you approach the north exit, it becomes brighter and brighter.  On the way from north mouth and the south mouth to the Beiyou Cave, you can enjoy the light cool breeze and appreciate the remarkable sculptures, feeling just like in a fairyland.  The happiness of traveling is experiencing and exploring, and Diecai Tai Chi Cave is one of the best places to encounter both!
