Baiwangs Hill Forest Park is located in the north of Summer Palace, about three kilometers away. The total area of the park is more than 2000 mou (134 hectares). Baiwang Hill Forest Park is heavily forested with the plant coverage rate 95%, that’s why it is called “the city oxygen supply of Beijing”. The altitude of Wanger Hill is 210 meters, which is a mountain peak of the east end of North China Plain. When climb on the hill and overlook, people can see modern buildings in the east and dense trees behind the hill.

 Tourists can enjoy the beauty of a large area of red autumnal leaves forest in Baiwang Hill Forest Park. If you overlook towards the west, you can see Taihang Mountains. Woods look dyed, red leaves all over the mountains and plains, green pines and verdant cypresses create the amazing scenery of the park. Especially when the sun sinks in the west, afterglows and red leaves enhance each other’s beauty. There is a stone statue of “red leaves faerie” in a clough of the park, where you can overlook the surrounding hills. The main peak of Baiwang Hill is quite tall and straight, standing like the three legs of tripod with Hei Shan Tou and Hanjia Hill. When climb on the main peak and gaze into the distance, you can see a magnificent and changeful prospect of the capital city. In the east and south of the hill, stands the beautiful and spectacular Beijing city; in the north, dense forest and rice aroma exists; in the west, stands the magnificent Taihang Mountains.

Baiwang Hill is a good place to climb on and go sightseeing for Beijingers. The environment of Baiwang Hill is quite tranquil and pleasant, with distinct scenery in different seasons. When spring returns to the earth, everything’s gone green, being full of life and vigor. Mountain flowers are luxuriantly blooming with attractive fragrance. Wandering about in the park makes people feel themselves are thrown into ecstacies, then they have much enjoyment here and forget to return home. In torrid summer, there is a light breeze blowing in the park, where you can hear the voices of both humans and birds. Many people come to the park with friends; they often chat together beside rocks or play chess under pine trees to enjoy themselves. In autumn, the weather is nice and cool. A thousand acres of red autumnal leaves often make people think a lot. The whole mountain looks red and woods look dyed, which please both the eye and the mind. If you get a red leaf, you can keep it as a souvenir of autumn. In winter, all trees are evergreen. If you climb on the mountain and overlook, a feeling of cheerfulness will come over you. However, if it snows, you can see flying snowflakes, vast mountains and plains.

There is a forest of steles for capital green culture in Baiwang Hill Park. Arrange sights in the forest base on the terrain, and then build steles in sights, which is divided into Stele pavilions, stele passageways and stele art walls. In those steles, inlays about 600 works of state leaders and prominent pubilc figures. The steles are aiming at propagating green culture and carrying forward the fine traditions of Chinese ethnic peoples. Green culture advocates people to protect the living enviorment of humans, attach importance to forest planting, and strengthen the awareness of environmental protection. When standing in front of the steles, tourists can not only see the achievements of virescence, but also are enchanted in the art of steles, experiencing the magnificance of Chinese calligraphy and painting.
