Five ancient cannons are displayed beside the entrance of Guan City on the Badaling Great Wall. When they were first invented, they were advanced weapons. The longest cannon among them is 2.85 meters long, with a caliber of 105 mm. Its firing range was over ten hundred meters. The cannon was carved with the words ‘Great General Rewarded by the Emperor’ and was made in Chongzhen 10th year in the Ming Dynasty (1638). The Cannon was transported from hundred miles away in 1958.

The other four cannons were small and excavated in 1957 when the Great Wall was being rebuilt. At the same time hundreds of bullets were found which were also from the Ming Dynasty.
