Food! Food! Food!

Wangfujing is a popular shopping and eating district in Beijing situated nearby The Forbidden City, the area boosts two large shopping centers which are popular with locals and tourists alike.  Experience  ”old Beijing street” at Sundongan Plaza, at the North end of Wangfujing and Oriental Plaza, at the South end of Wangfujing. Oriental Plaza is home to iconic brands such as Mango, Sisley and Jack Jones. For more exclusive shopping in Wangfujing explore the hushed shopping mall in the basement of The Peninsula Hotel home to labels such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada.

Regardless of how much of a fashion follower you are the highlight of Wangfujing has got to be the areas snack market. Experience outlandish dishes such as deep fried ice cream, scorpion and sheep’s testicles from the long line of street chefs all competing for your taste buds.  Haigan Diaz and McDonald’s are conveniently located nearby to eradicate the exotic flavors from your mouth with some ice cream if required. Look out for the contemporary and traditional street sculptures as you negotiate the highways and byways of this vibrant district.

To experience Wangfujing for yourself  jump off at Wangfujing or Dongdan underground station.
