Have you been to China? Do you like China Tours? Now, I will introduce you a palace which is famous for unique building style. Summer Palace is the largest and best preserved imperial garden in China. And it is one of the four famous gardens in China. In addition, it is known as the Museum of the Royal Gardens. If you Travel to Beijing, you must visit it.
1. General Description
The Summer Palace is located on the western edge of Beijing, in Haidian District, close to the western hills. The Summer Palace is virtually a museum of traditional Chinese gardening that uses rocks, plants, pavilions, ponds, cobble paths and other garden styles to create a poetic effect between different scenes. When you stroll around the Summer Palace, you will constantly find the area changing. Summer is the best time to visit Summer Palace.
The park spreads across the low hills, including Longevity Hill, around Kunming Lake, and is divided into three main zones such as administration, living, and relaxation. The wonderful buildings and courtyards wander beside the lake, along the waterways and climb the low slopes of the hillside. The arched bridges, pretty promenades, decorated ‘corridors’ and breezeways all lead visitors through ever-changing views and scenery.
2. Kunming Lake
The best spots of the summer palace are Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill.
Last Thursday, my friend and I visited the summer palace from the eastern gate. When we arrived at the gate, we experienced the royal garden style which is majestic and solemn.
Firstly, we visited the old courtyard which is unique in China. We took a lot of photos with the old buildings and old trees. Through several corridors, we came to Kunming Lake. That is the most beautiful Lake I have saw. A bridge with 17 holes spans the lake and there is also a mountain not far from it. What a beautiful picture it is!
There is an island in the center of Kunming Lake. You can go to the island by a wooden boat. When you got there, you can see a big peach tree. More over, there are a lot of other old trees with all kind of forms. In the lake, there are many beautiful lotuses. A lot of people took photos with the beautiful lotuses.
The bridge with 17 holes were made of stones and it is a long bridge connecting the east coast and the south lake island. The bridge formed by the 17 hole coupon, 150 meters long. Each Qiaolan column is carved with different lions and total of 544.
4. Longevity Hill
After that, we arrived at Longevity Hill. Longevity Hill is a 58.59-meter-high hill in the gardens of the Summer Palace with many buildings positioned in sequence. The Longevity Hill was originally called the Wengshan Hill. And it was renamed by Emperor Qianlong in 1752, during the Qing Dynasty, when he constructed the garden. In the front of the hill there are splendid halls and pavilions while the back hill, in sharp contrast, is quiet with natural beauty. At the foot of the front hill, a long corridor along the hill from east to west and an ancient-style archway provides the main entrance for climbing the hill.
We reached the top of the hill and enjoyed the beautiful sceneries. You will find it is another feeling contrast to former. What impressed me most deeply is the stone road on the hill. Last Thursday, my friend and I spent a lot of time in walking on the road and breathing fresh air. If you like the natural scene and these feeling, you can participate in Beijing Tours.
