Are you a shopholic? What is on your mind when you want to go shopping in Beijing? If you have made up your mind to Travel to Beijing, here I have some shopping suggestions for you .

Most of the time, the place which come to our mind first is Wangfujing Street,Xidan commercial Street or Xiushuijie (some other shopping malls perhaps). And places like these are always connected to modern trade and business.Do not we have some other choices?Of course there are some other interesting places during our Beijing Tours.

1. The Qianmen-Dashilan

Qian-men is located in Beijing’s historical central axis. And it is on the south of Tian’anmen Square and the Forbidden City.It is as long as 840metres and has a history of more than 570 years.Dashilan is an alley which is connected to the Qianmen street, you will not miss it when you are walking on the Qianmen Street. In Chinese,we read Da Zha Lan as Da Zha Lan,but Beijingers pronounce it as Dashilanr. As time goes on, it becomes a rule.

The street looks quite clean and neat even though it is crowed most of the time. There are so many old and famous shops in the street:Rui Fu Xiang silk shop ,Nei Lian Sheng shoe shop, for example. And some special goods ,facial masks, cloisonne, ceramic, palace lanterns, dough figurines  ,can also be found. Their goods enjoy quite good reputation and are well known of their quality. And you do not need to worry if you get tired in this street.Enjoy yourself with some Chinese tea and traditional food while watching Peking Opera in a local Tea House.

In other words ,Qianmen is the place where old Beijing still exists.

2.798 Art Zone

798 Art Zone or Dashanzi Art District, is a part of Dashilan in the Chaoyang District of Beijing.

798 is related to contemporary Chinese art. If you are an art fan, it is a place that you must go.798 used to be an industrial plant. Since it is abandoned in 1900s,it turns into a art zone. In this paradise for artists, new ideas and concept are shown in the form of statue , photo, painting, etc. Almost everything there is unique and it is a lively artistic area with a lot of cafes and small bars.

By the way, you do not need a ticket to visit 798 Art Zone and it do not has a gate or boundary as well. It is open to people from all over the world with sincerity.

3.Nan Luo Gu Xiang

Nan Luo Gu Xiang is next to Gu Lou Dong Da Jie (East Drum Tower Street). It is also a pedestrian alley .And it is famous for it’s funky shops with unique boutiques. In other words,it reflects both the modern and traditional side of China. In general ,shops in this street opens at 9am till quite late. Comparing to other bars and cafes, bars in Nan Luo Gu Xiang are decorated in a more traditional Chinese style and they are usually quieter and the food they provide are cheaper.

In my mind, it is easier to get closer to Chinese way of living in this special alley. What is more, it is easy to find some great souvenirs for back home.

4.Zoo Market

Beijing Zoo Market is a wholesale market group which contents seven markets around Beijing Zoo.

It sells all kinds of clothes at quite reasonable price. But because it is a wholesale market, you are not allowed to try the clothes on. And one of the most important things is bargain! Bargaining is not a shame in China. It is a kind of communication instead of quarrel. If you need to buy a lot of clothes at a low price, practice your skills of bargain and then take a look there.

That is my suggestions for shopping in Beijing. Hope you have a nice journey during your China Tours.
