P.S.:China has relaxed control over ticket prices for first class and business passengers on domestic flights, and airlines will be able to decide the prices of the two classes starting June 1, according to a notice released Friday by the Civil Aviation Ad-ministration of China (CAAC) and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).Previously the prices of first class and business class on domestic flights were set at 1.5 times and 1.3 times full fare economy class ticket prices respectively, according to the NDRC.
“Airlines can file their pricing adjustment plans, including price changes, the numbers of first class and business class seats, and the difference between first, business and economy classes in terms of facilities and service standards, to the CAAC and NDRC 30 days ahead of making new prices public and implementing them”, the notice said.“If there is large-scale fluctuation on fares in first class and business class, the authorities can intervene temporarily in accordance with the country’s Price Law”.
The new rule for China Airlines aims at lowering airlines’ operating costs and providing passengers with high quality and affordable services, according to the notice.Domestic airlines responded positively to the new rule, but analysts said it would not greatly affect current first class and business class ticket prices.
