The club are part owned by the Chinese government or its subsidiaries. Other governmental departments such as the Beijing Sports Bureau have made several significant investments into the club, the most recent being announced in January 2009 summing up to a cool 20 million RMB. Their predecessor was the Beijing Football Club, which was founded in 1955. Beijing Football Club really were one of the powerhouses in Chinese football, claiming 7 domestic titles in the old China National Football League.
