Now many of my articles have been about place to go out, to eat or to drink. So you would think that I would want to write about something else, this is true, but I wanted to tell you about a place that I had one of the most memorable nights since whilst visiting Beijing. Next time you are on your China tours XIU Bar is a venue that you do not want to miss. Located on the 6th floor of the Yintai Centre, this garden terrace bar is a must visit whilst on Beijing Tours. Being one of Beijing’s hot spots this bar is an elegant venue, blending traditional Chinese architecture with modern elements making the bar very chic.
It has won numerous awards during 2010, including The Bar with the most beautiful people award and the Best place for singles award, which it definitely deserves, so if you are looking for companionship this would be a recommended bar to go to.
XIU Bar contains five separate bars and lounges including a cigar room for those who wish to relax from the hustle and bustle that is found in most bars, a wine bar, a bar that specializes in vodka and martinis and the main bar which contains a funky live band and a dance floor for anyone who desires to strut their stuff.
The outside area is particularly impressive with wide terraces that allow you to enjoy drinks and freshly barbecued food whilst surrounded by the neon-lit, high-rise cityscape of booming Beijing.
However, do be warned, XIU Bar is expensive as bars go in Beijing. Entry is 100RMB though this does also include a complimentary glass of champagne. Drinks are on the higher price range with martinis around 70RMB, mojitos costing 65RMB and many different wines varying between 60-140RMB a 
glass. But considering XIU has a daily happy hour from 5-8pm it is relatively easy to avoid spending too much of your wages here. Ladies night is on Thursday’s allowing women to receive free vodka drinks from 10pm until 1am and for the other half of us 30% off Grey Goose Vodka. But for all those Latin lovers out there then Tuesday is the evening to hit this bar as its Mundo Latino x Magic Tequila night where it is 20% of a bottle of tequila, buy 5 Coronas for 180RMB and enjoy some Latin music.
So next time you are on your Beijing Tours, give this bar a visit. I promise it is definitely worth the effort and the money.
