When you’re in Beijing don’t forget to check out the tallest buildings from your China Hotels.  You might even see them at a view from your hotel but if you get the opportunity to do a bit of sight see -ing don’t forget to visit The Fortune Plaza office building 1.  This visit can be combined with your list of things to do while on your china travel. Amongst many buildings in Beijing, The Fortune Plaza Office Building 1 is the tallest completed building in Beijing.

This building stands 260 metres from the ground (853 ft) tall with 63 stories.  This building is based in the Chaoyang district area.   The 2nd Tallest completed building in the city is the Park Tower, which stands at 250 m (820 ft) and containing 63 stories.  The park Tower is the tallest building out of the 3 building – Beijing Yintai Centre, which includes two adjoining 186 m (610 ft), 42 – story skyscrapers.

When you visit one these buildings you will find that most of them are very modern office buildings structured as high rised buildings.  The Architectural Styles are modern materials and glass.  Inside these buildings there are restaurants, bars and places for cavorting.

Beijing Yintai centre is a three towered structure with the central tower rising 250m high and the two flanking towers are about 186m high. These buildings are based in the Beijing central business district area surrounded by upmarket shops For example Emporio Armarni, Valentino, Bottege Vaneta etc.    The Beijing Yintai Centre named blocks A, B and C.

These buildings inside contain private residence, Penthouses and offices.   Block C has a popular night venue on the 6th floor called Xiu.  This is great for females on a Thursday night for clubbing as it’s free admission and drinks are served free until 1 am.  Unfortunately the males have to pay 100 Yuan for entrance and pay for their drinks.

Another building that maybe of interest is the Central Radio & TV Tower this is 1,268 metres high (387 ft) and the World Trade Centre buildings, Towers 1, 2 and 3.  I recently visited the City Centre Tower which is formally the Tallest building in Beijing but is under construction and known as proposed.  This building is 1, 887 metres high which is (575 ft) and 140 floors.  As you walk into the building you will find the main reception area.  This area occupies a model of the building and the walls are of artistic design.  With many of these buildings you will find that the lift splits the floors in to various sections for example the first set of floors range from floor 1 to floor 64 and then floor 64 to 100th floor etc.

City Centre Tower

When visiting this building we went to the 84th floor.  As you exit the lift you walk in to a large lounge area.  In this lounge area there is a grand piano, two dance floors and a bar.  This bar contains a huge walk in drinks cabinet with bottles of scotch, whiskies etc.  I’m gathering this part of the building is for people on business as there were alot of men and women of significant importance there.  In the lounge there is a private lift placed in the centre of two sides of the lounge and while we visited there was a women singing with a band covering the night time entertainment on one of the dance floors.

There isn’t much chance of doing much sightseeing over looking outside from this building as the windows distorts the view from inside at night time.  To get a decent view to see outside, during the day is probably the best time.  However, the lounge we visited is very upmarket and can imagine that people who visit this place on a Friday or Saturday night spend a lot of Yuan here.

I’m sure to dine you have to make seating arrangements before you go as the place can get very busy.  I’m sure the menu only offers canape foods.  Once leaving the lounge we went back downstairs via lift.  The lift speeds to what felt like 15mph going down so watch out you could feel slightly light headed as you leave.

The City Centre Building is again right in the centre of the central Business District area so when you’re on your Travel to Beijing you might find that at some you point will end up in this area.
