When you have packed you baggage and be ready to start to Travel to Tibet, have you ever think about the points for attention during your Tibet Tours? Here I have some useful tips for you if you made up your mind to enjoy the scenery of Tibet.

 1.       The best time for travel

The best season for traveling in Tibet is from April to October. The average temperature in Tibet is only 8℃ above zero. The temperature changes a lot from morning to evening. July and August are the raining season in Tibet and the air becomes moist during this time. And the moist air makes you feel better than the dry one.

 2.       What to wear when we go out

The spring in Tibet starts from April to June with frequent sandstorm weathers. So bring you with a coat which protests you against the wind. From July to September is the summer time in Tibet, it is a rainy season with strong sunlight. As a result, do not forget to slap on some suntan screen before you go out and wear a long-sleeved T-shirt for better protection. Autumn starts from October to December, the weather turns cool so bring a thick coat with you in case. Then it comes Tibet’s winter, the air turns dry and you need to drink more water and a down clothes.

 3.       Things must take

The first one is cash. Even though credit cards can still be used there, there are not as many banks in the other cities in China. The second one is efficacious certificates, such as ID, passport, a student ID card etc.( Sometimes, the price for a student is much cheaper, so you need a student ID card for identification.) The third one is sunglasses and suntan scream. The SPF of your suntan scream is better higher than 30 with moisture effects. The last one is medicine which makes you feel better when you come across headache.

 4.       Avoid of Mountain Sickness

One of the most important things that you have to pay attention to is the mountain sickness (acute high altitude disease, AHAD). For Tibet is about 4000 meters above the sea level, the air there contains less oxygen. Therefore, if it is the first time for you to travel in such a highland, you may feel uncomfortable. The symptoms are headache, dizzy, tired, insomnia and so on. If your body condition is not good enough (high blood pressure , heart disease for example), you are not encouraged to go to a highland. But you can still make it if you consult the doctor beforehand and be prepared to manage emergencies related.

 5.       Do as the Romans do

When you meet Tibetan people in Tibet, they usually greet you with their hands palm in front of their chest and their tongues stretch out. Do not be afraid of them. It is the way that they greet people. All you need to do is to put your hands in front of your chest too and greet them in the same way.

 6.       Dos and don’ts in Tibet

  1. In some areas of  Tibet, people do not eat fish, chicken or eggs. They are used to their eating habit so do not ask them to eat things they do not want.
  2. Do not wear sunglasses or smoke in a temple, behaviors like these are regarded as rude to their region.
  3. Always walk clockwise around religious objects.
  4. The behavior to comment on lama or Panchen is strictly banned.

Hope you have a pleasant China Tours in Tibet.
