The 22nd maple leaves of Fragrant Hills festival has been launched on the Oct 15th, and this week will be the best time to watch the red leaves. NO.1 Jingcui Lake

This surely could be the closest best view point, as you just need 5 minutes walk towards south from its East Palace Gate. The scenery here is taking the mountains as barriers while the flow water as a jade belt. The scenic area is surrounded by mountains in three sides. At this late autumn, you can appreciate the amazing beauty that glossy dark green pines on the west slopes, red leaves in the south side, mountains in distance connected in the east and green cypresses reflected in the north side. Besides, the waterfall pavilion in scenic spots is definitely a wonderful place for tourists to take a rest, enjoy the beautiful views and listen to the flow water.

Features: closest to the door, has mountains and water, takes the least energy and has the longest time of keeping the views of red leaves.

Best viewing time: about 25 October to 9 November.

Tips: Because Jingcui Lake is surrounded by mountains, it is easy to catch with the backlight when taking photos, so you need to find a good angle.

NO.2 Xiangshan Temple

Xiangshan Temple, built in Tang Dynasty, is the birthplace of Xiangshan culture. Though there are only the remaining sites, it has towering old trees, stone engraved with fine murals screen, neat handwriting exquisite stone, telling its ups and downs history. Visitors can wander around the green pines and cypresses under shade, overlooking the hills turn the leaves and take a rest chair in the road, feeling the pulse of history. By the way, Xiangshan Temple is located in the south, close to the famous patriotic education bases Shuangqing Village. Just walk along the up line from the village then cross the Joy Yard, you will arrive at Xiangshan Temple in a more pen area.

NO.3 Heshun Gate

Heshun Gate, located in the south hill above more than 300m sea level of Xiangshan Park, is the section of the south garden wall. Ancient Okimichi, which is from Langfeng Pavilion to Heshun Gate, has repaired and reconstructed over all by Xiangshan Park. You can view red leaves densely shaded along the road. Enjoying the view of red leaves on ancient Okimichi is the latest from the leaves and visitors can directly go deep into the forest leaves.

Features: the most in-depth forest leaves

Watch Capacity: 3,000 to 5,000 people.

Best viewing time: 25 October to 9 November.

Tips: Due to the higher location, you should get mountaineering preparation.

NO.4 Yuhua Xiu

Yuhua Xiu is the centre of the park and the largest flat area of it, with the most open views. You can go there through the east door of Xiangshan Park then a walk up along with middle road which takes 20min. Yuhua Xiu is divided into upper and lower levels, rehabilitated from the style of Qing Dynasty courtyard, simple and elegant. If you take an overlook against the wall, you will get the whole wonderful scenery, Pines and cypresses silhouetted against the red leaves with dyed golden ginkgo leaves and Koelreuteria embellished. And kiosks like precious stones inlaid on it.

Features: the most open view, watch the leaves at the same time can enjoy pure mountain spring water brewing tea.

Watch Capacity: 800 to 1000 people.

Best viewing time: 15 October to 4 November.
Tips: Path from Eastern Gate to Yuhua Xiu is more moderate, which is suitable for the whole family together to go.

NO.5 Xiang Wu Cave

Xiang Wu Cave is located in the half-way up the hill, with flat land. There are some fitness equipments. So it is a good place for visitors having rest and exercises. Standing in the cave, you can feel various of red color reflected from stacked far and near leaves to fully experience the fun exposure to natural and comfortable.

Features: the most classical imperial garden features ornamental point of rest in the mountain on the way, tea.

Watch Capacity: 800 to 1000 people.

Best viewing time: 15 October to 4 November.
Tips: Xiang Wu Cave takes about half an hour or more to reach, light and comfortable shoes are more appropriate.

The second part is travel tips.

In the fastigium, you should try to avoid the peak time period of 8:00 to 9 pm, 2 pm to 4pm.

Traffic Control Sector suggests that, influenced by the large passenger flow volume, Xiangshan Exit of the main road in the Fifth Ring, the north gate of Xiangshan Park, Xiangshan South Road, Xiangshan Reclining Buddha Road, Xianghongqi Crossing and Minzhuang Road are easy to get traffic jams. In addition, rubbing of the cars happens a lot in Xianghongqi Road, Xiangshan South Road and Xiangshan Exit in the main road of 5th ring.

Traffic Control Sector also advises that visitors should, choose the nearest travel destination under the actual situation so as not to waste time on the road.
