During this national day, I went to the old town of fenghuang. Besides its amazing nature beauty, it has the most wonderful Miao guide in China Tours or china travel.

The beautiful girl who worked as our guide for 1day tour package told us that guides there were not called **Dao, they were called A-Mei(to female) or A-Ge(to male) in Chinese. This totally followed the Miao custom& culture. So we named the cute guide whose first name was Wu as Wu A-Mei.

Let me introduce something that heard from Wu A-Mei about her background. First, she was totally a Miao people. And she just came back from Guangdong Province as she had worked there for 2 years. She told us that, life in there was superficially attractive while she could not get the sense of belonging and some great improvement in economy. And she added, ‘Well, I have no high education background’. What a straight-out girl! While she lost her mind in Guangdong, she suddenly realized that she definitely could come home and work as a Miao guide as she is very familiar with this old town and loves it so much. Why not illustrate my wonderful hometown to the visitors as this is a good way for me to return her? Considering this, she quit her job at once and went back. Successfully she got the qualification needed as a guide. Obviously, it is very easy for her.

Wu A-Mei led way for us to Den Ben Miao Village and Dragon Canyon. As a rule, Wu A-Mei introduced herself when we all in the tour bus towards the village. She also illustrate some tips for obeying the Miao custom& culture, a little dialect of Miao people and an antiphonal song. She smiled from heart and was zealous all the way. She reminded the bus driver of carefully driving and opening door of the bus as well as we tourist for safety as if she would never get tired. Deserved to be mentioned, Wu A-Mei had a very wonderful voice when she sang the Miao songs, though she couldn’t express herself clearly sometimes. And let me tell you how the Miao people say the ‘I Love You’ in their own dialect. That is called ‘WAI YE MU’ in Chinese pronunciation. What a funny!

Wu A-Mei is a quite professional guide. When we were visiting a scene spot in Den Ben Miao Village, she showed us a room of a Miao girl. The room was used to be a secret one to protect the girls from Xiangxi bandits. As a girl’s room, people can not get in without their permission. So Wu A-Mei reminded us curious tourists with great patient because there were several naughty kids in our touring party. She looked like a sister even a mom when dealt with these little kids. What she did there definitely impressed us deeply. And she even help us to pick up the suitable taking-photo position when we visited in the Lovers-Bridge. She just keep busying and moving here and there with her great enthusiasm.

Oh, I can’t show all the things she did for us as a good example here. It is too much to say all out. I just judge from my angle of view. I think an excellent guide should have not only the professional skills but also his or her ardently love for the guide work. He or she loves the scenery that would be illustrate, loves local people there and loves what he or she should do. That is the highest level for a guide to be a real guide. Wu A-Mei expressed it very well. What she did helped me have a very wonderful trip in the old town of fenghuang.

Are you moved by what I said above? Just take it into practice, you will get no regrets. And please check more info on china travel.

We also had a great Miao guide when we visited the city. She had many opportunities to rip us off, but was always honest, friendly, and went above and beyond in her guiding.
