According to historical records, in 487 BC, the year after Confucius’ death, Lord Al of the State of Lu had Confucius’ house in the center of Qufu altered into a temple in commemoration of the sage. After many rebuilds and expansion, it reached its present scale in the Ming Dynasty. Covering 140,000 square meters of land it has over a hundred halls, towers, pavilions and other buildings clustering around 9 courtyards. There are also the Apricot Altar where Confucius had his school, the famous cypress and cover a thousand stone tablets.
3. Mount Tai
Mount Tai is on the top of Wuyue and regarded as the first mountain in China. It is located in the center of Shandong province with history of thousands of years. Many emperors worship on the mountain and it possess historical and cultural sense. So, Mount Tai was made a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. There are a lot of beautiful spots on the mountain such as Tianzhufeng, Riguangfeng and Longtan waterfull. 4. Hongcun

The natural landscape and cultural content in harmony with each other is the characteristics of Hongcun different from other residential buildings, which become the cultural heritage of a great miracle in world history. So, Hong Village was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000 and every year many people go to visit it and enjoy the natural scenery.
